Alvanet focuses on content development and application of the e-learning components. In other words, Alvanet sees itself as content and application provider for e-learning market. The basic components of e-learning system which are essential for its functionality are called the technical system.

The technical system is supplemented on the hand by manware, which refers to the people who use, administrative, maintain and develop other components of the system. On the other hand, it is supplemented by orgware, which refers to all organizational regulations and concepts concerning e-learning and its management. Every part of an e-learning system which can be marketed autonomously is called e-learning product. E-learning products comprise on the one hand hardware, software and content in terms of digital data. On the other hand, they comprise services in connection with hardware, software, content, manware and orgware.

E-learning becomes more and more important. Reasons are the paramount importance of knowledge, life-time learning, globalization and mobility. E-learning products are not only demanded by educational institution or companies but also by individual, autonomous learners focusing special learning objectives via ICT.

In addition, digital divide between rural area population and the urban population is huge especially in Malaysia. There is a great need in helping the rural area population especially children to have access to the online academics resources content via digital means such as satellite, internet and storage media technologies. Example in the remote area such as Bario, Sarawak, and the children population can utilize the existing facilities e-Bario to access Alvanet Children Edutainment Programs (ELSV, WebICC, WebITV). Even some places without internet connection and computer, Alvanet existing Hybrid CD Technology (HCDT) can let the user to view the children content in VCD player.

Currently, most of the children edutainment software programs available are mostly foreign content and lack of local content and not much related to our country education guidelines of education curriculum. Most of the Alvanet contents are local education content curriculum which follow the guidelines of Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).

Since 1998, Alvanet has introduced more than 30 titles of children edutainment software program, VCD and Hybrid CD for Malaysia as well as some South East Asia countries such as Thailand and Philippines.

Having the children software, VCD/DVD mode and Hybrid CD Technology HCDT (user can use computer or VCD player to run interactive) enable Alvanet to deliver its products more efficient and cost effective. This will make the users or learners to enable them to have continuous learning lesson with various digital options via ICT.

As the growing ICT knowledge of e-learning among the children in Malaysia, Alvanet plan to do Research and Development in order for it to market more innovative e-learning content and application products such as ELSV, WebICC and WebITV.
